ST. CLAUDE AVENUE BRIDGE (LA 46):
Through early December 2020, vehicular traffic on the St. Claude Bridge will be restricted to one lane in each direction for bridge repairs. The two outer lanes in each direction will remain open, while the two innermost lanes will be closed.
These lane restrictions are needed for structural and mechanical bridge repairs that cannot be performed while the bridge is operational for maritime traffic, therefore, this work has been scheduled to coincide with separate U.S. Army Corps of Engineers repairs of the Inner Harbor Navigation Canal Lock, which will close the bridge to marine traffic. The bridge will remain in the down position starting on Sept. 7.
In addition to the long-term inner lane closures, the outer lanes of the St. Claude Ave. Bridge will also be closed periodically for short durations of no more than 15 minutes at a time to ensure the safety of workers and motorists during certain bridge repair activities.
No closures of the sidewalks or nearby bus stops are anticipated at this time.
For questions regarding the St. Claude Ave. Bridge repair work, please contact Cathy Alfonso with the Port of New Orleans at firstname.lastname@example.org

ALMONASTER AVENUE BRIDGE (formerly known as the L&N Bridge):
The Almonaster Avenue Bridge will be closed to marine traffic for 3 hours in the morning and 3 hours in the afternoon on September 29th & 30th and October 1st, as shown below. These closures are needed to perform an electronic scan survey of the structure in preparation for bridge repairs and future rehabilitation work that will include reopening the bridge to vehicular traffic. The closures have been approved by the U. S. Coast Guard and the bridge will also be closed to rail traffic during the survey.

The Port of New Orleans owns and operates four bridges (St. Claude Avenue, Florida Avenue, Almonaster Avenue, and Seabrook) across the Inner Harbor Navigation Canal. To help expedite vehicular traffic during peak drive times, the St. Claude and Florida Avenue Bridges will not be drawn for maritime traffic during restricted hours on weekdays (Monday-Friday), excluding federal holidays, except in the case of an emergency. These restricted hours are known as bridge curfews.
